Lenovo marks its debut in the global desktop market

Well-known as one of the best laptop producers and sellers worldwide and the fourth biggest PC maker in the world, Lenovo marks its debut in the global desktop market by announcing its new IdeaCentre K210 desktop machine, engineered for the best user experience, with many features designed to make it the ideal choice for home and family use.

The IdeaCentre K210 boasts of a facial recognition technology called, VeriFace and Lenovo claims that it is the only desktop PC that offers such a feature. This desktop powerhouse machine also includes an anti-microbial keyboard that inhibits bacterial growth using a special material. The Bright Vision software and Bright Eye camera, available to attach on the Lenovo L222 and Lenovo L195 LCD monitors, automatically detect your distance from the monitor and adjust the monitor’s brightness.

The OneKey anti-virus feature allows you to perform virus scans and repairs even when the system is down, while the File Management feature helps you save critical data on a special system partition in the event of a hard drive failure.

Powered by the powerful Intel Core 2 Quad processor and 3GB of RAM, the Lenovo computer boasts an integrated Intel GMA X3100 graphics engine which can be upgraded to a 512MB ATI Radeon 2600 XT, an optional Blu-Ray drive, a 5.1-ch HD audioand a 16-in-1 media card reader. The IdeaCentre K210 also features the Lenovo Vantage Technology (LVT) menu which allows user to recover from system crashes or viruses with just a single touch. With one touch of the LVT button on the keyboard you have access to all of the LVT applications such as the Healthcare feature and the Rescue feature. The webcam that supports VeriFace facial recognition protects the PC from unauthorized users. Sounds more than impressive!

This new Lenovo machine is now available at Lenovo.com and several US retail stores. Price starts at $379 with two options for the accompanying monitor that is either a 19-inch monitor for an additional $229, or a 22-inch monitor for an additional $299.
